Mesa demands government to condemn Russian invasion and Tuto urges to defend Ukrainian sovereignty

After the first military operations following Vladimir Putin's order, the leader of Comunidad Ciudadana (CC), Carlos Mesa, demanded the Bolivian government to condemn Russia's "invasion" in Ukraine, which he considered "imperialist".

"We demand the government to express Bolivia's condemnation of the Russian imperialist invasion of the Republic of Ukraine. Peace, sovereignty and freedom of countries, are essential values that we must defend above ideologies. Our solidarity with the Ukrainian people," Mesa posted on social networks.

Likewise, former President Jorge Tuto Quiroga expressed his solidarity with Ukraine and urged 21st century socialists to defend Ukrainian sovereignty today.

"We hope that chavistas, socialists XXI and ForoPueblistas, who stirred up for years ghosts of US invasions that NEVER materialized, today defend Ukrainian sovereignty," Quiroga also described on social networks.

The MAS government has close relations with Russia. During the pandemic, President Luis Arce has had telephone conversations with Putin to arrange the arrival of Sputnik V vaccines.
